[MPlayer-users] absolute volume in slave mode

Hi,
Is it possible to get the current value of the volume in the slave
mode for mplayer?

I am writing a full-fledged mplayer front-end and it would be nice if
the user can see the current volume level in mplayer (as opposed to
buttons for increasing and decreasing volume without any indication
about the current volume level)
