Patches should:

a) go to mplayer-dev-eng, not mplayer-users.

b) be attached, not inline.

I wouldn't be surprised if this one were rejected for breaking other
things, however - but I'm not especially competent at evaluating such
issues, and even if I were that doesn't mean you shouldn't post it.
