I can't get an AVI file that claims to be in 2YUV format to play under
mplayer. I've got all the codecs (from the binary codecs package), but
it won't play.

(When playing by default)

AVI file format detected.
Detected NON-INTERLEAVED AVI file format.

If I tweak codecs.conf according to
http://itdp.fh-biergarten.de/~itdp/html/mplayer-users/2004-08/msg00215.html

then I get slightly different output in the video section, but still no
output:

Opening video decoder: [raw] RAW Uncompressed Video
VDec: vo config request - 720 x 480 (preferred csp: Unknown)
Could not find matching colorspace - retrying with -vf scale...
Opening video filter: [scale]
The selected video_out device is incompatible with this codec.
VDecoder init failed :(
Cannot find codec matching selected -vo and video format 0x32767579.
Read DOCS/HTML/en/codecs.html!

I've tried all (I think) of the available output options, nothing seems
to work. Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
-Titus
