My point was actually, could the official mplayer be changed so that  
this is the default when playing back MPEG-2 transport streams (with  
MPEG-2 video content)? I.e. so that it works properly by  
autodetection, without additional configuration by the user.

Sorry if my terminology/wording is not accurate..

Anyway thank you for your help with this, I can make it work for my  
own needs now.
