[MPlayer-users] getting make to work for ARM

I am trying to cross compile MPlayer for ARM on Linux and am a bit of a newbie at cross compiling. I am using RH9.0 as the host OS on an i686 machine.

1. I finally figured out the correct options for configure to build for ARM and that step completes properly.

2. I do a make and get this failure on my host

./codec-cfg ./etc/codecs.conf > codecs.conf.h
/bin/sh: ./codec-cfg: cannot execute binary file

Just to try it out, I copied the codec-cfg and the codecs.conf on the target ARM architecture and am able to run the above command successfully, so it seems like codec-cfg is an ARM executable.

What do I need to do to do to build the entire MPlayer on the host m/c?

Thanks,
Sharad
