[MPlayer-users] Cannot show chinese .srt subtitle in Mac OS X?

I've compiled mplayer1.0pre6 on Mac OS X 10.3.7. When playing movies 
with chinese subtitles (GBK , .srt or .ssa file), mplayer cannot 
display chinese characters. I've already set a chinese ttf font 
(simhei.ttf) as the main subtitle font. There's no problem with English 
subtitles. How can I resolve this ? Will a subfont-c-convert work?
