No. It is a format that is very ugly to support, e.g. because the lib does
not really support working on a stream coming from a demuxer but wants
to access the file directly, and it uses C++, both of which fit
absolutely not into MPlayers design.
But worst of all, the licencense makes it completely impossible to use
it in an GPL program. There was a discusion about it but there was no
usuable response from the author.
So in short: Forget it. Go beat the person that used ape instead.
