[MPlayer-users] ANY way to play (or reencode) a wmv3/mp3 avi file on OSX?

hi,

i'm trying to watch an avi file which contains wmv3 video on mac-osx.

so far the best "way" was to reencode it on an i86-machine with mencoder.

is there anything i can do?

i installed the "official" windows media player. problem is, that it 
plays wmv files with wmv3 video, but it does not talk to avi files.

so i used ffmpeg, to remux the avi into .asf, but it still was not good 
enough (the mp3 audio was still a problem).

here i stopped ;(..maybe reencoding the mp3 part to wav would help, so a 
avi(wmv3/mp3)=>asf(wmv/pcm) conversion could maybe help.


is there a better/easier way?
