Hi,

mencoder "mf://*.png" -mf fps=25 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4 -o
del.avi -v 1

leads to:

[...]
ds_fill_buffer: EOF reached (stream: video) 0mb A-V:0.000 [1159:0]
A/Vms 0/55 D/B/S 0/0/0
uninit video: mpng
File not found: '1'
Failed to open 1
Cannot open file/device.

Exiting...
--------

So Mencoder interprets the "1" form "-v 1" as an non existing file.
The resulting Avi does not include any index so seeking is not possible.

The manpage says that "-v 1" (or -v 0) should be OK:

-v, -verbose
Increment verbose level (more -v means more ver- bosity).
0 only some informational output (default)
1 some basic debug infos, avi header, func- tion values (init debug)
2 print avi indexes, chunk inputs, more debug infos (player debug)
3 prints everything related to input parsers (parser debug)

Regards,
  Matthias
