Create an mplayerplug-in.conf file in $HOME/.mplayer and add these lines to 
it.

cachesize=2048
cache-percent=50

I'm guessing you have a slow connection and you are reaching the end of file 
before it is completely downloaded. You can change values to get an option 
that works best for you.
