Dear Mplayer gurus,

I am trying to play a ra file using mplayer.

I use debian sid. I tried the marillat mplayer version, as well as
compiling directly from source using either the essentials codec collection or
else the all codec collection.

I can play the file using the realplayer from real.

Instead of hearing the lecture i get "sound of water rushing".

Here is output.

I compiled using make and not make install so i run from directory in which i
compiled.

MPlayer interrupted by signal 2 in module: play_audio

**************************

still "sound of water running".

I also tried to do

1) mplayer infile.wma/ra -ao pcm -aofile outfile.wav
2) lame -f outfile.wav mp3outfile.mp3

and get same sound from outfile.wav and mp3outfile.mp3.

i also tried the switch -vo null and -vc dummy and no help.

Any Ideas on what I can do?

thanks
