[MPlayer-users] mf:// and space

I'd like to encode multiple images, but to have all the images at hd
takes a lot of space, the idea is to encode images when they are
created and delete after it.

Can I do something like: cat *.jpg | mencoder mf://-?
(I'll change cat with a bash script)

I've tried and doesnt work, of course, but perhaps there are other
option I ignore...
Can I say mencoder that the flow of images is some kind of video format?
