Sorry, maybe I did not explain clearly what happens to me.

With the latest version MPlayer-1.0pre6 please try to watch 
http://www.techsmith.com/spotlight/jmcmurray1.avi
which is one example camtasia file on the techsmith web site.
 
Can anyone manage to watch it with linux mplayer?
