[MPlayer-users] Problems with video playback with Mandrake 10.1 on hp ze4805us laptop

I installed mandrake 10.1 on my hp ze4805us laptop, compiled mplayer
and installed it. I'm having problems getting it to show any video.
The top fourth of my screen goes crazy and displays weird colors. This
same file works fine in mplayer on windows. This is a screenshot
showing what happens when I play a video:

I did some googling and found something about a real time clock
module, and so I did what it suggested, which was to execute "modprobe
rtc", which didn't return any errors. The output of mplayer after I
did this changed to:

So, now a new error, but the weird screen effects are the same. I'm
not quite sure how to proceed from here. Any help is appreciated.
