For BBC streams, they use RealPlayer 10.

Solution: Install RealPlayer 10 on XP. Copy cook.dll to
mplayer/codecs/cook3260.dll (see codecs.conf). This should now play fine
on XP. However, this same codec on *nix gives skip stutter garble. Copy
the cook.so.6.0 codec from RealPlayer for Linux, and copy it to
mplayer/codecs.
