[MPlayer-users] Another seperate audio output question...

Hi

does anybody know why if I do:

mplayer -ao alsa device=<something> <filename>

the device= doesn't seem to do anything? - I was trying to experiment with
accessing single pcm outputs but nothing actually does anything - in fact,
even totally invalid devices like chicarone or something makes no difference
(I would've expected an error in that case but it just plays away - always
as if I hadn't put the device= part in there)
