[MPlayer-users] lirc support not being installed

I have lirc running with an IRA-3 module.   The command to get it running is
"lircd --driver=irman --device=/dev/ttyS3"

I know it works, as I am able to use irrecord, irw, mythtv...and more.

However when I compile mplayer it doesn't see lirc and thus doesn't install
lirc support.   Is there a way to force mplayer to install lirc support?
