That doesn't exclude the possibility of it being damaged or simply
badly mastered.

Use the regionset utility. Download it from
http://linvdr.org/projects/regionset/ or see my site for RPM package.

What can I say? I haven't found a DVD yet that wouldn't play. You must
be doing something wrong.
