You need to specify your video output driver.  Look for "-vo" in the man
page/docs.

"vidix" in the name should give you a hint that it's an add-on to
mplayer, and not the base mplayer RPM itself.  Find one without vidix in
the name.  There are offical RPMs already provided on the MPlayer site.
