How does SHOUTcast work? Is there a way to access media file that is being
streamed (file extension: mp3...)?
I try to find (by browsing) the media file URL (mp3) from the one given in the
PLS file, but I get lost in a loop.
I also noticed that some properties in PLS files change in time.
ex:
File2=http://64.236.34.196:80/stream/1018
Title2=(#2 - 629/15163) Groove Salad: a nicely chilled plate of ambient beats
and grooves. [SomaFM] Length2=-1
File2=http://64.236.34.196:80/stream/1018
Title2=(#2 - 617/14981) Groove Salad: a nicely chilled plate of ambient beats
and grooves. [SomaFM] Length2=-1
Another question:
How does a player choose the link (URL) contained in a metafile or PLS file, in
the case there are multiple URLs references? Does he take the first link it can
connect to? Does it depends on the available bandwidth?
Sorry for these vague questions. If anybody is motivated to enlight me, thanks!
A+ nico
