There is chance source code is included with the hardware.

"It's open. You want to develop your own games for the GP2X? Go right
ahead. The SDK is included with the system free. Not since the days of
the Amiga has a system been so easy to develop for, commercially and
for fun."

But I am not sure, it could be just the minimal files to compile new code.

Anyway it may worth asking/checking them. It looks like this device
uses only free software (linux, quake 1, etc..)
