I think, theoretically, the MPlayer plug-in for Mozilla/FireFox,  
would work on the Mac (Though I've never tested this, and I know  
little about programming, so don't quote me on this).

I hate to say it, but us Mac users don't get a lot of attention out  
here. The majority of MPlayer users are Linux/x86 users, so us OS X/ 
Darwin/PPC users are usually on our own when it comes to problems  
like these. I'm pretty sure we'll see a Safari plug-in for a long time.
