Maybe the resulting file is created in /tmp/ or so.

I really recommend to include your bash script into Konqueror's kontext 
menu. It's much easier.
/opt/kde3/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/encryptfile.desktop is a good 
example (and read those tinks provided in my other email).
