System Configuration:
Gentoo 2005.0
Kernel v2.6.11
libc-2.3.4
gcc v3.4.3-20050110
ld v2.15.92.0.2 20040927
GNU assembler v2.15.92.0.2 20040927
Intel Pentium III 733 (Socket 370)
Matrox G450 PCI Graphics Adapter
Creative Labs ESS1371 PCI
Under CPU load, the above configuration crashes with Signal 11 when trying
to play a clip which access ir41_32.dll (Also occurs with same clip using
ir50_32.dll).
- Mplayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM.
- Mplayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
It can be a bug in the Mplayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version.
System load is established using:
burnp6 &
renice -20 [pid of burnp6 process]
This test mirrors test results also achieved using:
AuthenticAMD
GeodeT Integrated Processor by AMD PCS
Video, AMD GeodeT Integrated Graphics
Audio, AMD 553x ALSA Audio Driver
The Geode processor is slower, and is also responsible for Graphics. Clips
using other codecs on both the loaded PIII, and the Geode system does not
crash the system in this manner. A reference clip is available upon
request.
