Let me clarify the problem. It is not related to the
capturing process. I´mḿ sorry if my previous post was
unclear. The problem arises for any existing avi file that
I use. In fact, for other avi files, the desync problem is
often larger, around 2-3s. If you, or anyone, could try
the extract command that I am using and see what results you
get, that would help.
I am using mencoder on linux (SuSE 9.3 and mencoder compiled
from
MPlayer-current.tar.bz2 latest CVS snapshot (MPlayer-20050806).
The command that I have been using is the following. If
there is anything here that might cause the problem, that
would be great, but seeing as the problem arises when using
existing avi files as well (from net etc), I would lean
towards the problem being in the reencoding.
mencoder tv:// -tv
driver=v4l2:freq=175.25:width=768:height=576 -ovc lavc
-lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vqmin=2:vbitrate=710 -oac faac
-faacopts br=128:mpeg=4 -o tvcapture_20050930-0836.avi
After I vant to extract a segment of that avi (here a period
of 1m in length, offset 1 min from the start of the file),
which isn't working.
mencoder tvcapture_20050930-0836.avi -ss 1:00 -endpos 1:00
-o cut1.avi -oac copy -ovc copy
Thanks,
Gábor
