[MPlayer-users] system-wide libdvdcss?

MPlayer compiled from CVS source yesterday can not play two Sony
Classics DVDs.  Xine can play them using libdvdcss2-1.2.9-1.i386.rpm
(the latest version I can find), but not with an earlier version
(libdvdcss-1.2.8-2.network.i386.rpm, I think).  Perhaps the version of
libdvdcss included in the MPlayer source is getting a little old?
mplayer/main/DOCS/HTML-single/en/MPlayer.html mentions "MPlayer can also
use system-wide libdvdread and libdvdcss libraries," but provides no
details regarding how to do this.  Ditto with the man pages.  How does
one get MPlayer to utilize system-wide libdvdcss?  Or am I wrong to
postulate that this playback problem is due to a stale version of
libdvdcss in the MPlayer source?
