[MPlayer-users] -noplay option

Hello,
I'm trying to get some informations about videos and when I use
mplayer it prints then.
The problem is that I don't want to play the video, only get the
informations, but doesn't exist one option like "- noplay".
Somebody can tell me if exists a way to get informations abaout a
video without play it???
Maybe another program that do it??
