It was all clear after i overcame my laziness based on a suggestion in another
thread and looked into:

The only problem i'm having now is that converted .mpg is about 16% larger than
original, even when i constrain it from 9300kbps to 7750 kbps w/ vbitrate. I'm
amazed that the only difference vbitrate drop of 16% made was about 15KB, which
is about 1/2000.
I'll try lower values like 5000 this evening. If there are any thoughts on this,
please yell at me.
