[MPlayer-users] gmplayer error: "alsa-control: unable to find simple control..."

Hi everyone,

When I try to play any file with gmplayer, an error dialogue saying:

    alsa-control: unable to find simple control 'PCM',0

starts flashing. The non-gui version of MPlayer works fine.

I run the latest Ubuntu GNU/Linux and the version of MPlayer is

    MPlayer 2:0.99+1.0pre7try2+cvs20060117-0ubuntu8

My sound card is an M-Audio Audiophile 2496.

Any ideas?
