Having actually edited SRT subs, they don't. He's thinking of SSA/ASS
that support fonts, colors, etc. However, MPlayer currently doesn't
support SSA/ASS colors, formatting, and fonts. MPlayer just displayed
them the same way it displays SRTs: simply.

I agree. This formatting is all dependent on whoever crafted the
subtitles, and the subtitle formats. SRT does not do this, and will
never do this. SSA/ASS do this, but *only* if the subtitler (I don't
know what to call the person) codes them in that way.
