[MPlayer-users] Autodetection of .flv files

Hi, all!

Is there a way to have mplayer autodetect that an flv file is an flv 
file without its file name extension?
This is useful when playing a file directly from a remoe url for example 
from youtube.
Usually those files aren't recognized by mplayer unless the .flv 
extension is present, but wget, for example, will recognize the file
as "video/flv".

One option would be to have mplayer fall back to flv if it can't detect 
the video format.

Any help would be appreciated.
