[MPlayer-users] mencoder skipping frames every 2-3 secs on PAL DVD

I've noticed some PAL DVD's recently on which mencoder mysteriously
skips frames all the time.
mplayer playback is fine, no problems whatsoever; but mencoder says
it is skipping frame rougly every 2-3 seconds:

I can see the same behavior also when trying to encode dumped stream
(stream.dump file), so it is probably more MPEG-PS decodeing issue than DVD
reading one.
