[MPlayer-users] 1080i to 1080p mpeg2 or x264?

I'd like to reencode my 1080i HDTV recordings to 1080p. I was
wondering if anyone on the list has done any research into settings to
use for x264 or mpeg2 to get as close to the same quality for the
output file as the input?
