[MPlayer-users] How to watch CNN videos

Browsers: Opera, Firefox
Site: www.cnn.com

Clicking on any "Watch Video" link, triggers the ugly "Plugin Warning":

"The CNN.com video experience is optimized for WMP 9 or above.  No WMP detected."

Question: 
 Is there any way to "fake" the WMP so I can watch these videos with MPlayer?
(possibly with the appropriate MIME association calling MPlayer, in browser Preferences?)
