Whatever for? The essential tarbal is sufficient.

In theory, they should allow you to build 32bit mplayer. Try
$ setarch i686 ./configure ....the rest of the above
$ setarch i686 make

Also make sure you have ALL necessary libraries and corresponding -devel
packages in 32bit versions.
