[MPlayer-users] osd duration

I'm having a little trouble with the osd stuff in slave mode. The  
command `osd_show_text "hello" 10000 0` should show the word 'hello'  
for 10 seconds (as I understand it). But it only seems to show up for  
about a second. Whatever duration I pass, it still only shows up for  
a second. Any ideas how to make these words show up on the screen for  
any longer than a second?
