As you suggested, i tried this:

but mencoder tell me when 2nd pass:
ff_tempfile: Cannot open temporary file
Can't create temporary pass2 file.
Could not open codec.
FATAL: Cannot initialize video driver.

I dont know how to make vrc_strategy=1 work in 2nd pass.

i got a bit-identical file because i use vrc_strategy in first pass only...
Its my fault...

Yup im using Corey's patch to compiled mplayer with xvid 1.2.0 dev.
