False hopes are worse. There are limits to what optimizations can do, 
and 50% is far beyond those limits.

Ok. Suppose half the frames are B frames. Deblocking takes ~20% of the 
decoding time on high bitrate videos, so you'll gain 10% speed. And - 
alas - bframes tend not to be inserted when the video is complex, i.e. 
when the bitrate gets higher. Bottom line : don't rely on such a trick.
