[MPlayer-users] fc5 install problems

I've been working on this all day and cant seem to get it working...  I reinstalled Fedora Core 5 (after the upgrade from FC4 to FC5 screwed many things up) ... I grabbed the mplayer1.0pre7try2 from the website and following these instructios http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mplayer-fedora.html tried to install it.  (and installed the xorg-x11-proto-devel .. since Xfree86 & xorg-x11-libs dont seem to be availiable for fc5)  But every time I do the only video output drives I get are Video output: cvidix vesa md5sum pnm  mpegpes(dvb)  tga
looking in my configure log file I find:

I'm at a loss.  Any help would be greatly apperciated!
