Good bug report, Thanks for following the bug reporting procedure. I
use the same distro as you on AMD-64, 64bits (except that it hasn't
been updated for about a month).

As I can't reproduce your problem I'd suggest you to retry building
mplayer from a clean cvs checkout. It's possible that your tree had
some oddly compiled object files which were screwing MPlayer up.
