[MPlayer-users] Cannot initialize video driver.

Hi I am searching through the mailing list for the
answer but did not find satisfactory answer. Sorry if
I miss anything. 

I am trying to encode the images to create movie. I am
getting the following exception.

./mencoder mf://*.jpg -mf fps=1:type=jpg -ovc lavc
-lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4 -oac copy -o output.avi


New video file has different resolution or colorspace
than the previous one.
FATAL: Cannot initialize video driver.
Why do we get NULL??

cat ~/.mplayer/config 
# Write your default config options here!
vo=vidix

I am using 
$ uname -a
Linux test.xyz.net 2.4.25-040218 #1 SMP Wed Feb 18
17:59:29 CET 2004 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

I compile the src from MPlayer-1.0rc1

Please let me know if I miss anything or you need any
more info.
