ok, here's what I found out:
setting RC for the drive helps. If you own DVDs from different RCs, it 
also helps having more DVD drives, each one set to a different RC 
(though it is only needed for breaking these special DVDs. Once the key 
is stored in the cache, one may play it on any drive.

So I set one drive from Region 0 (mask 0xFF) to Region 2 (mask 0xFD), 
and the other drive to Region 1 (mask 0xFE).

And now the breaking of all keys works like a charm, no more waiting for 
a key to be decrypted...


Something more for my understanding: why is the region code of the DVD 
drive necessary in order to decrypt some of the discs?
