Actually, it must not have been too far off (see response below).  I was not
sure what else to provide, so I was hoping someone might have some 
questions for me so I could provide more useful information.

That is a link to a page for the developer package.  It states that you
have to already have the 8.0a runtime installed.  I only have version 5
installed.  If you are saying the page is incorrect regarding that
requirement, I will give it a shot!

OK, well that is probably the issue then.  Does anyone know where one can 
find DirectX 7 or 8.0a (I am pretty sure that is the last version compatable 
with Win95)?  I got the impression from the MS site that 7 might only work
with Win2k, but found references to 8.0 & 8.0a working with Win95.
