[MPlayer-users] mplayer without OSD

hello all,

I downloadeD mplayer from svn, today.
I compiled it first without any option passed to configure.
It works fine but I can't get any OSD displayed although the keys works 
(mute, full screen and so on); Just I have't any displayed text (OSD).

Then I recomPiled it again (first doing make clean) with the 
enable-freetype option, but I am still missing the on screen display.

Is there anything I missed?
