For one thing, the audio sampling rates are different on berlitz and 
volver. Does mencoder tell you it converted the 2nd audio?

And why a message about "pipe1.avi"? Are you sure you did not use -i 
pipe1.avi, then retyped the command here instead of copy/paste?
