[MPlayer-users] -dumpfile plays fine in Linux, static in Windows XP

I am recording streaming audio and attempting to convert to mp3. The asf
file saves fine, I then run:

 mplayer -ao pcm:file=dump.wave /video/xmradio/202-12_05_07-12.asf

This results in a wav file that plays fine in Ubuntu but it's just full of
static in windows.

If I convert it then to an MP3 with lame, again it plays fine in Linux but
is a garbled mess in Windows XP. VLC shows the converted mp3 as mpga
format. My entire purpose here is to get the shows onto my Zune for later
playback. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
