[MPlayer-users] compiling libdvdread and libdvdcss

Hello,

I have some questions on the two libraries libdvdread
and libdvdcss

>From www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML-single/en/MPlayer.html
I understand, that libdvdread and libdvdcss are included
in mplayer's source tree in libmpdvdkit2/.

1) After compilation, I see a libdvdcss.o in that
directory but I don't see any libdvdcss libraries around.
Does Mplayer link the libdvdcss.o statically ?

2) The system I do the compile on has a system-wide
libdvdread installed but no libdvdcss.
Which 'libdvdread' will mplayer use at run-time?
Will it still compile its 'own' one or will it attempt
to use the system-wide one?

3) The preceding two questions are related to the fact,
that when I invoke mplayer I get a complaint from
dvdread, that it can not decrypt DVDs ?
And yes, I cannot play encrypted DVDs.
So it looks like dvdread (which one?) thinks that
libdvdcss is not on the system, even though if I
look into libmpdvdkit2/ there is at least a
libdvdcss.o file - however as I said above,
there is no actual libdvdcss.a around.
