I cannot play a .wmv file on my knoppmyth box. I get this:

Requested video codec family [wmv9dmo] (vfm=dmo) not available.
Enable it at compilation.
Requested video codec family [wmvdmo] (vfm=dmo) not available.
Enable it at compilation.
Cannot find codec matching selected -vo and video format 0x33564D57.
Read DOCS/HTML/en/codecs.html!

I had thought that installing w32codecs would fix it, and the dll for the
codec certainly seems to be there in /usr/lib/codecs and /usr/lib/win32
(one is in fact a link to the other).

I still get the output above, and note that the output says "Enable it at
compilation.". Is there a way around the apparenty need to recompile
mplayer (which I don't particularly want to do as everything else in
knoppmyth is just working fine!)

My compiled on gentoo desktop mplayer plays the file just fine, it just
doesn't play onto my TV!
