[MPlayer-users] AC3 - Strange error during channel conversion?

Hi,

I'm having some problems with some compressed files, I know very little of
this area but I did some research and found nothing like this:

I don't have a surround51 device made by alsa, so I'm using mplayer with 6
channels in my default device, which works fine for uncompressed wav's with
6 channels. However if I try to open compressed files in AC3 I get

==========================================================================
(...): [liba52] AC3 decoding with liba52
Using SSE optimized IMDCT transform
AC3: 5.0 (3f+2r) 48000 Hz 448.0 kbit/s
Unimplemented resampler for mode 0x7 -> 6 channels conversion - Contact

Using MMX optimized resampler

Selected audio codec: [a52] afm: liba52 (AC3-liba52)

alsa-init: 5 channels are not supported
alsa-init: using device default

Endian
AO: [alsa] 48000Hz 5ch s16le (2 bytes per sample)
...

I have sound in my front channels, rear right and subwoofer. My rear left
speaker stayes muted. Anyone knows what's happening? (maybe that speaker
sound is going to the subwoofer, but then where's the subwoofer sound?)

I know the file is 5.1 but this reports 5.0. DTS 5.1 files only play in
stereo. Even more strangely, playing DVD's reports no error, but I get the
same speaker muted. Any thought is apreciated.

Cheers,
Nelson
