./configure DOES automatically detect dvdnav, so you don't neet to add any
options concerning dvdnav.

I suspect your "pkgconfig path setteing"?

Does the command

> echo $PKG_CONFIG_PATH

include "/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig"?
